North Dakota braces for significant winter weather

The National Weather Service is reporting the potential of six or more inches of snow for parts of southwest and central-North Dakota moving to the east.

Widespread accumulating snow and patchy blowing snow is likely across southwest and central North Dakota Wednesday through Thursday night, lesser amounts are expected northwest.

There is increasing confidence the first round of heavier snow will occur over southwest and central North Dakota Wednesday night through Thursday, with six to ten inches of snow possible southwest, central and northeast. Lesser snow amounts northwest and north central, mostly rain southeast. Travel will be significantly impacted, with very slippery and slushy roads. A widespread hard freeze will end the growing season statewide.
