Federal PPP puts $1.9 million into Grant County
As the nation’s small businesses faced an unprecedented economic disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, two federal programs were implemented to assist local businesses and their employees.
On March 27, the CARES Act was signed into law, containing relief for workers and small businesses. In addition to traditional U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) funding programs, the CARES Act established new temporary programs through the SBA. One program was the Paycheck Protection
One program was the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll, aimed at businesses with fewer than 500 employees.
