Violet Rauser

Violet Rauser, 92, Bismarck, passed peacefully from this earth on April 19, 2022. Per Violet’s request, a graveside service at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022, 11:00 a.m., where she will be laid to rest next to Norman. A family gathering to celebrate Violet’s life will follow the service. Cremation has taken place.

Violet was born September 11, 1929, to Carl and Justina (Machau) Rittenbach. She was raised on the family farm at Lincoln Valley where she received her primary and religious education.

In 1955 she married Norman Rauser (1929-2002) and devoted her life to being a farm wife and mother. Violet was an avid cook, gardener, seamstress, quilter, and friend to many. Violet’s love and devotion expressed to Norman during his decades long affliction with health issues was admirable and spoke to the remarkable person that she was.

Violet is survived by three children, Judy, Leon, and Connie; Mandley Johnson and Mandy and Jeremy Guinn and family; and two sisters, Pearl Meckle and Gladys Botz.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings John (Martha), Eugene (Emma), Alma, Maisie (Marvin) Mortenson, Adeline (Ivan) Clark, and brothers-in-law Willis Meckle and Albert Botz.

We miss Violet’s special way of caring for everyone she loved, along with her positive outlook on life. Violet was a ray of sunshine to everyone who was around her and to us, her children, she was the light of our lives.

In lieu of cards, friends and family may go to the DaWise-Perry (Mandan) website and leave a comment for the family in celebration of Violet’s life.
