Amanda “Sandy” as many knew her, went home to be with the Lord on Nov.14, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her husband and children in Scio, Oregon.

She was truly a devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was an inspiration to all with her enthusiasm for life, sense of humor and her love of family.

Amanda was born to the late Margeart and John Lorenz at Watuga, South Dakota. She was the third youngest of 15 living children. She attended public school south of Watuga. Her parents moved to Golden Valley, North Dakota when she was seven years old. She received her education at a country school near Zap, North Dakota.

After her father died, her mother and two sisters Ruby, and Violet moved into Zap.

The summer of 1946 she spent with her sister Maggie (Bill) Schell. She was invited to a New Years Eve Christmas Party at the Fike School in the North Dakota Hills. There she met the love of her life through her friends Christ and Marie Schell.

June 26, 1947, they were united in marriage at the Lutheran Church in Sidney, MT. For a short time they made a home in Fairview, MT before moving to the farm north of Morristown.

They were blessed with six children. Ronny, Bonny, Terry, Randy, Chuck and Ritchie.

In the summer of 1979, they made a big move to Scio, Oregon where they have remained to her death.

Sandy leaves behind her beloved husband, Ellis, Her children Ron (Kris) Bonny (Clyde) Rieger, Terry (Tricia), Chuck (Deb), Ritch (Donna Rae), sister Violet (Gilbert) many grandchildren and Great grandchildren, Many loved cousins, and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her son Randy, her parents, several brothers and sisters, and many good friends.

There was a service at Zion Lutheran in Newburg, Oregon (her son Chuck is pastor of this church) at 2:00 on Sunday November 21.
