Robert Watson

Robert “Bob” Watson, age 80, a resident of Elgin, ND and Pendleton, Oregon, passed away on May 13, 2023, at Tioga Medical Center.

Robert married the “Love of his Life” Delores Wald on December 16, 1967. Mom wanted that date since it was the day after his birthday so he would never forget their anniversary.

Robert was a longhaul truck driver the majority of his life. He and Delores also had their small business, Up With Donuts, in Pendleton, OR from 1989-1994.

After Delores passed in 2004, Robert continued driving truck and working as a handyman. In 2013 Robert moved back to ND as he wanted to be close to his beloved wife who was laid to rest in Fort Rice, ND.

After retirement Robert enjoyed spending time with his family.

His grandson Chris was his pride and joy. They were great fishing buddies.

One of Dads favorite past times was meeting his friends twice a day at the café for coffee and as we call it their “B.S.” sessions. The stories were great as I have heard many of them.

Robert had a daughter earlier on in his life whom he only seen at birth. He was 17 then. In December 2022, Robert and his daughter Mary Ann connected after 62 years of wondering if he would find her. She has two beautiful daughters, Britta and Chelsea, who he was excited to have two more grandchildren and two more great-grandchildren.

Tina’s son, Chris, has two children, Zayden and Bella, who are also his grandchildren. Dad loved those two withhis whole heart. He was very pleased at the young man Chris has become with his beautiful wife, Savannah.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard, Raymond, Ronald, Roy; sister, Mary Lou.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Tina Groshens (Harry), Washington State; son, Cody Watson, OR; grandson, Chris Chandler (Savannah); two grandchildren, Zayden and Bella; daughter, Mary Ann Hehr, ND;granddaughter, Britta Hehr (boyfriend R.C.), ND, Chelsea Rose, ND; great-grandchildren from Britta, Kenny and Annie.
