Mitchell Beck

Mitchell George Beck, age 84, passed away February 2, 2024, at Jacobsen Memorial Hospital, Elgin, ND.

Mitch’s idea for his obituary was “I was born, I lived, I died. Period.” Of course there was so much more to his life!

He was born on January 14, 1940 to Victor and Clara Beck in Elgin, ND. He was raised on a farm north of Elgin. He went to grade school and high school in Elgin joined the US Army in 1959. He was stationed at various bases stateside and served overseas in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. After 20 years of service he was honorably discharged and returned to New Leipzig, ND.

Mitch and Lori Berdahl Burnham were married in 2000 and enjoyed many years of traveling throughout the United States from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic Coast visiting family and friends plus stopping at Casinos along the way.

Surviving Mitch is his wife Lori, four sons from a previous marriage, Jason, Justin, Jon and James Beck; two stepsons, Derek and Josh Burnham, a stepdaughter, Lisa Burnham Santos, grandson Colton, granddaughter Sabrina and great-granddaughter Everly. Also surviving are his two brothers, Monroe and Jeffrey and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Victor and Clara, three sisters, Fran, Phyllis and Brenda and two brothers, Duane and Jerry.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
