Mildred “Millie” Dachtler Mastel, born August 24, 1935, passed away in Mission Viejo after a prolonged period of declining health on July 9, 2023.

Prior to her relocation to Southern California, Millie was a Yolo County resident for over 60 years.

The granddaughter of German immigrants from Russia, she was born and raised on a farm in Elgin, North Dakota. She maintained a lifelong affinity for the ethnic foods of her youth and enjoyed making cabbage rolls, knephla, and kuchen.
