A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery east of New Leipzig at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 21, 2023.

The youngest of six children, Marjorie (Marge) Ann Hintz was born on April 11, 1941 to Gottfried and Leontina Hintz on a farm near New Leipzig, ND.

Marge attended school in New Leipzig where she met and dated Kenneth (Kenny) Baesler. After graduating from high school, Marge married Kenny Baesler on June 28, 1959.

Marge and Kenny made their first home in Sacramento, CA where Kenny was stationed while serving in the USAF. They also managed a small apartment complex during that time. Afterward, the couple returned to New Leipzig where Marge gave birth to Tammy Rae who also passed away in 1962.

Kenny was hired by the Boeing Corporation in 1964 and the couple moved to Seattle, WA. They lived near Marge’s sister Fern and her husband Rudy until they purchased their home. In 1965 Jeffrey was born. Kenny Jr. joined the family in 1969. Marge and Kenny lived in Renton, WA where they raised their sons for most of their lives, except for a few years in the early 1970s when the couple returned to North Dakota and lived in Fargo and Bismarck until Boeing started re-hiring.

An avid seamstress, Marge worked for Washington West Sportswear and other companies making everything from active sportswear to sewing winter coats and snowmobile suits. Her passion for creating and helping others continued as a member of the quilting club at St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Whether she was sewing quilts to send to the troops overseas or making backpacks for the homeless, she truly lived to help others through her passion for sewing.

Later in her career, Marge worked as a Composite Lay-up Mechanic on the B2 bomber program at Boeing until she and Kenny retired in 1997 and built their retirement home in Chehalis, WA.

Marge always made big life events feel very celebrated, from graduations to birthdays, to weddings, to the birth of her great grandchildren. She made the special moments even more special for her family!

Every holiday was an incredible occasion filled with delicious smells of homemade cookies and peanut butter fudge against a backdrop of decorations throughout the house and yard. Marge saw beauty in everything and took the time to appreciate the beauty at that moment. She always ended each phone call or departure with her signature “buh-bye now”.

Marge was well traveled with a sense of adventure! She particularly enjoyed the trips to Germany, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, cruises, and drives back to North Dakota. She especially loved dancing with her brother Murlin at the annual Oktoberfest in New Leipzig. Marge frequently enjoyed getting a condo and spending time at the ocean with her family.

After Kenny’s passing in 2009, Marge’s sisters became her travel partners with trips to Australia, New Zealand and other destinations. She frequently enjoyed bantering with her sisters and critiquing the latest fashion trends at Macy’s, the products being sold on QVC and the renovations on HGTV.

She deeply appreciated the support of her brother Murlin and the time that they spent together. Whether they were heading to the casino or weekend adventure, Marge and Murlin were always the best of friends and looked out for each other.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tammy, husband Kenny Baesler, sisters Claudine and Fern and brother Wilbur.

Marge is survived by her son Jeff and his wife Denise Baesler; granddaughter Hailey Dalton, husband Mike and great grandsons Brysen and Tristan; grandson Curtis Baesler; her son Kenny Baesler and his fiancé Diane Torres; granddaughter Kelsey Jarrell and great granddaughter Carly; granddaughter Kyla Nau and her husband Lincoln; and her brothers Murlin and Delbert Hintz.
