Hilda Dora Schultz, age 88, of Las Vegas, NV passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021.

A funeral service will be held Monday, September 20, 2021, at 1:00 pm MT at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Amundson will officiate with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Elgin.

Hilda was born August 19, 1933 in Elgin, ND to Jacob and Anna (Rivinius) Wutzke.

She grew up and received her education in Elgin, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Elgin, ND.

She married Duane Schultz in 1954 and moved to Bismarck, Montana and settled in Sacramento, CA where she worked in housekeeping at a hospital. After ten years, she moved to Wichita, Kansas to be near her sister.

In December 1969, Hilda moved to Las Vegas, her home for 52 years. She retired after 23 years with Westward Ho as a Hotel/Casino Housekeeping Supervisor. After her retirement, she and her special friend Steve enjoyed being extras in a movie filmed in Las Vegas. Her friend Jerry became a caregiver for Steve as his health declined and later was Hilda’s caregiver.

Hilda enjoyed going on outings with Steve and Jerry, watching old westerns and reading. Late at night, she liked to listen to a channel on reflections (scripture readings). She treasured visits from family members over the years and taking trips with her parents. For Hilda’s 85 th birthday, she was excited to attend the Celine Dion concert and check it off her bucket list.

Hilda was quick to make friends wherever she lived and was happy to help others whenever she could. Hilda, was a strong woman, with deep inner faith, strength and love for her family. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sisters Florence Baesler, Bismarck, ND, Ruby (Pete) Koepplin, Elgin, ND, Nellie Oster, Bismarck, ND, dear friend Jerry Martin, Las Vegas, NV, aunts Helen Rivinius, Bismarck, ND, Julia Wutzke, Bismarck, ND. Also, her nephews and nieces – Bob (Deb) Koepplin, Doug (Nancy) Koepplin, Terry (Marci) Koepplin, Bonnie (Cordell) Kautz, Perry (Connie) Baesler, Yvonne (Glenn) Seidler, Rita Anderson, Bianca (John Lacher) Deloreschild, Mingo Koepplin, Gayle (Charlie) Little, Jacinda (Jody) Simmons; many great-nephews and nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Anna (Rivinius) Wutzke, sisters, Agnes Wutzke (infant) and Delores Ding, brothers-in-law Gordon Baesler, Leo Oster, Louie Ding, Jr., nephews Blake and Blane Ding and special friend Stephen Camp.
