Grace passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Washington surrounded by her family.

Grace was born in Lisbon, ND, on July 18, 1939. After graduating from Lisbon High School, Grace attended Valley State University, receiving her teaching certificate in 1960. Her first teaching job after college was at Oak Grove School in Cannon Ball, ND, where she met the love of her life, Lavern Roth. On August 1, 1964, Lavern and Grace were married in St. James Catholic Church in Porcupine, ND. They were blessed in 1966, welcoming son Todd Alan and daughter Lisa Marie a few years later.

Mom was passionate about learning, which translated into teaching at various public and Catholic elementary schools. In 1976, she and dad moved to Washington State for work. Mom again used her passion for learning, attending Bates Vocational to study accountancy. Mom worked for various construction businesses, retiring from King Construction in 2006. Mom was very active in St. Teresa Catholic Church in Federal Way. She had a servant’s heart; she always served others before thinking of herself. Mom loved spending time with her friends, reading, and scrapbooking club. Mom’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mom had the most kind, caring, and forgiving heart.

Grace is survived by her son, Todd (Kay) Roth of Mandan, ND; daughter, Lisa (Eric) Roth-VanHorn of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren, DeAnn (Ben) Dingus, Christopher Roth, Matthew (Desiree) Lokken, Kevin Brothers, and Kyle (Megan) Brothers, Keaton and Landon VanHorn; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen Ostbye and Diane Mcintyre; and many nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern; parents, Clarence and Mary Palloch; and brother, Bob Palloch.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, ND.
