Dale Schaible

Dale Duane Schaible, 79, of Ellendale, ND, died September 17, 2023, at Oakes Good Samaritan Center, Oakes, ND.

Dale was born September 28, 1943, to John and Amelia (Bickel) Schaible in Elgin, ND. He grew up in Elgin and after graduation in 1962 he worked in construction. Dale joined the United States Navy in 1965 and was stationed in San Diego, CA, until 1968. He was on the USS Goldsborough, a guided missile ship.

After serving his country, he came back to the Dakotas and took a job at the Pope and Talbot Sawmill in Spearfish, SD. He married Faye Konkler on December 28, 1985, at Hettinger, ND. They moved to Bismarck-Mandan where he worked at Bill’s Super Value. After Faye’s death in September 2018, Dale moved to Ellendale, ND.

Dale loved baking kuchens, making fudge and homemade jerky, and he loved caring for his cats.

Dale was predeceased by his wife, Faye (Konkler) Schaible, by his parents, John and Amelia “Molly” Schaible, and by all of his siblings: Irene Schaible(justthreedays old), Lorene Schaible, (Mrs. Gottlieb Seidler), Raymond Schaible, Ruth Schaible, (Mrs. Ken Peterson), Marvin Schaible, and Doris Schaible (Mrs. Dwayne Hillius). Dale and Faye are interred at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
