Crystal Senn

Crystal Jean (Haslid) Senn peacefully passed away on November 25, 2022, at a local hospital, at the age of 63. She passed away after a short, hard-fought battle with cancer.

She was born December 11, 1958, at Elgin, ND to Byris and Thelma Lou Haslid. Crystal attended school in Elgin and Hebron. She worked as a waitress and bartender until being diagnosed with a brain tumor. At that time, doctors in Rochester, MN gave her a five year life expectancy, but with her strength and determination, she proved them wrong. She had much more to accomplish. She was gived with 27 more years.

On March 21, 1998, she married Monte Senn, from that time on they enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and gardening. They took numerous drips with she referred to as “special adventures”. There were several “special adventures” to the mountains where she truly found inner peace and tranquility. She was particularly fond of the Tetons. Crystal loved music. She loved Bob Dylan, John Prine, Bob Marley and Van Morrison. She also enjoyed writing poetry, one of which was published.

She is survived by her husband, Monte; mother, Thelma Lou and father, Byris, both of Elgin; two brothers Galen (Lynn Ann) Glendive, MT and Michael (Elain Roth), Elgin; sister, Cindy (Ben) Desa, Sringfield, MO; nephew, Skyar (Amanda) Desa, Springfield, MO; three nieces, Alysha Turner, Springfield, MN, Michelle (Peter) Leyvamt, and Sara Haslad, MT; four great nephews and nieces; mother-in-law, Coleeta Luchsinger, Mandan, and special friend Bob Cucher, Clarissa, MN; two sisters-in-law, Candy (Jim)Haller, Dickinson, and Cindy (Mike) Foulk, Mandan; niece, Lyndsay (Kyle) Lake, Fargo; nephew, Mike Haller, Fargo; special friends, David and Darlina Wagner, Mandan, who always had a knack to make her laugh; and Rachele Roemmich, Mandan, who was always there for her no matter what; and other friends that are just too numerous to mention.

By Crystal’s request, no funeral service will be held. A burial service will be held at a later date.
