Corraine L. Schock
Corraine L. Schock, age 93 of Elgin, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Mott Good Samaritan Society in Mott, ND.
The Funeral Service for Corraine will be held at 10:30 a.m. MT on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Hope Congregational Church in Elgin. Pastor Ed Zimmerman will officiate with burial in Hope Congregational Cemetery.

Special music will be provided by Mona Hands, organist.
Serving as casketbearers are Jason Laub, Andrew and Daniel Smith, Lynn Underdahl, Ryan Petrick, and Tom Sprenger.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 7, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin.
CORRAINE LILLIAN DIEHL was born on Feburary 1, 1929 in Carson, ND to Theodore and Freda (Horst) Diehl. She was raised on a farm north of Carson. She attended school in Carson and was baptized and confirmed at Emmaus Congregational Church in Carson.
Corraine married August E. Schock on October 16, 1949. Together they farmed north of Elgin where they raised their three children, Judy, Cheryl, and Wesley. Corraine was an exceptional housewife and mother. She did all the things a farm wife was expected to do. She cooked dumplings and knoephla soup, baked bread and kuchen, gardened, canned, milked cows and helped August whenever he needed her. In her spare time she sewed and loved to crochet.
She was a member of Hope Congregational Church, sang in the choir, attended Bible studies and was a member of the Ladies Aid for many years.
Her husband August passed away on November 25, 1994. Corraine continued to live on the farm until she purchased a home in Elgin. When her health began to fail and she was no longer able to live alone, she moved to Mandan and lived with her daughter and son-in-law.
Corraine is survived by her children, Judy (Mike) Smith, Bismarck, ND; Cheryl (Gene) Lund, Mandan, ND; Wesley (Tracey) Schock, Sioux Falls, SD; grandsons, Jason (Tonya) Laub, Andrew (Caitlin) Smith, Daniel (Jena) Smith, two great grandchildren, Jaedyn and Jaxon Smith, 3three step grandchildren, three step greatgrandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Corraine in death were her husband, August; her parents; son-in-law, Don Laub; granddaughter, Barbara Georgene Lund; brothers, Clinton, Albert, Theophil, Edwin and Eldon; and sisters, Lillian, Arlene and Agnes.
