Martin Marquardt

Martin "Marty" Marquardt, 58, of Haynes, ND passed away peacefully at his residence in Haynes, ND on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020.  
Gathering of Family and Friends will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Centennial Chapel of Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger, ND.  Burial will follow at the Haynes Cemetery, near Haynes, ND and Fr. Charles Zins will officiate.
Martin (Marty) Charles Marquardt was born to Charles and Lavonne on June 6,1961, in Chicago IL. The family moved to Southern California when Marty was young. Marty attended West Covina High School in California. He started working as a teen and loved to work when he could. Marty was in a car club and loved to street race, and his first love was his 1967 Mercury Cougar. He met the mother of his two daughters in this car club. Marty moved his family to El Mirage, California soon after Bonnie was born. Marty was known to have amazing parties that everyone loved to go to. He was an over the road truck driver most of his life and loved to drive trucks. He also loved kids, especially his daughters Bonnie and Stephanie, as well as his grandkids. Marty was a family man that would help anyone that he could when they needed it. He was always there if you needed a smile. Marty loved playing cards with everyone too and ahead a few ladies he played cards with when he lived in Tennessee his favorite card game was Canasta.
In the mid-2000s Marty moved to Moore, Oklahoma with his friends, the Hill family to help them raise their boys after his girls were grown.  Then, in 2009, Marty moved to Maryville, Tennessee to care for his father and step-mother.  After his step-mother passed away, he and his brother Robert came to live with his daughter Bonnie, son-in-law Michael Wells and their family in the Dakotas.  He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren, every chance that he got.
Marty is survived by his daughters Bonnie (Michael) Wells and Stephanie (Stephan) Perry.  His grandkids Chloe, Earl, Raylan, Boyd, Daisy, Michael Jr., Sydnie, Sienna, and Saywer. His brother Tim (Lyndene) Marquardt. His sisters Kathryn Carter and Melissa (Danny) McIlvain. His nephew Corey Carter and nieces Crystal Carter, Monique Ruiz, ToniLynn Marquardt and Samantha Cilano. His aunt Marilyn Marquardt. Along with his great nephews Lucas and Landon and nieces Hayden, Kendel, Olivia and many cousins. Marty is preceded in death by his father Charles, mother Lavonne, stepmom Lois, and brother Robert.
As Marty always said: "W is for winner which is me and L is for loser which is what you are!"
