Lois Kenitzer

Lois Kenitzer, age 95, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck, ND.
Service of Remembrance for Lois will be Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Reeder, ND.  Rev. Deb Molbert will officiate.  A Family gathering will be Friday, January 24, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger, ND.  Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held at a later date.
LOIS MAXINE CARROLL was the 6th child born to Harvey and Clara (Brase) Carroll on the family farm on December 2, 1924.  She attended grade school in the Holt and Argonne School Districts and graduated from Hettinger High School in 1942. 
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Bucyrus Lutheran Church for about 60 years, being very involved in the ladies groups. 
Lois married Ervin Kenitzer of Bucyrus on January 20, 1944.  They lived on the farm southwest of Bucyrus until 1998 when they moved to Reeder. She taught at the Holden School for one year, and was employed for 24 years at the Hettinger Hospital where she worked in the laundry department. 
She served on the Bucyrus Lutheran Church Board and Township Board.  Lois was active in Bucyrus WELCA, the Bucyrus/Reeder Homemakers Club, the Reeder’s Lions Club, and Prairie Pioneers.  She really enjoyed her morning coffee and card playing with her Reeder friends.  She was also active in the Senior Citizen Club in Reeder. 
After Ervin passed away in 2000, Lois continued to live in Reeder until she moved to Hettinger in 2011.  She entered the Marian Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin on August 1, 2019.  Lois passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. 
Lois leaves to mourn her passing two children, Harvey (Sharon) Kenitzer, Polson, MT; Kathy (Jerome) Boschee, Glen Ullin, ND; two granddaughters, Shelley (Joe) Quinn, Polson, MT, Kayla (Justin) Schlosser, Bismarck, ND, four great-grandchildren, Jordan and Dylan Quinn, Raina and Brody Schlosser; one sister-in-law, Irene (Gene) Jacobson; and many more relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin, her parents, brothers Earl (Mary Lou) Carroll, Vern (Doris) Carroll, Donnie Carroll, sisters Marjorie (Harley) Erickson, Wanda (Clarence) Gravning, and Reva (Eric) Eneberg.
