“Thankful”; a word to be heard over the next few weeks, especially this Thanksgiving weekend. Whether families gather at grandma and grandpas’ home, around a table that has been in the family for generations, or at a table in the local community center, surrounded by family, friends and neighbors, Grant County families will be able to celebrate the holiday wherever they choose.
“Name one thriving community without a newspaper” was the title of guest editorial by Tony Bender in the October 19 edition of the Grant County News/ Carson Press, touching on the importance of a local newspaper. Behind those newspapers, though, are busy minds and fast fingers typing up the next hard-hitting front-page story.
