Kindergarten class enjoys learning with Lola the classpet
The eleventh kindergartener at Roosevelt school isn’t a bright-eyed student eager to learn, it’s Lola, the class pet rabbit. The black and white fury friend was donated to the kindergarten class by Roosevelt phy-ed teacher, Mr. Knipe. “When I applied for my grant and got funding, he told me not to waste my money because he had a rabbit which they couldn’t keep due to allergies,” explains Kindergarten teacher Lisa Redmann.

City withholds final payments to contractor
At its regular meeting Dec. 7, the Elgin City Council handled the project closeout for an infrastructure project, but is withholding the final $66,684.85 payment to the contractor upon the recommendation by Chuck Oien, who led the meeting in Mayor Ron Bartz’s absence.
