Rivinius is Barrel Racing Champion
A lot of people think of Carey Rivinius as a wife and mother or as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Jacobson Memorial Hospital in Elgin. Not only is she all these things, but she has a hobby and passion for barrel racing, a passion that she has been doing since she was around 14 years old. Carey grew up on a ranch in Carson and graduated in 1996 from Carson High School.
Her family was mainly ranching and really not part of the rodeo circuit, however having friends involved in it and being part of 4-H, she fell in love with it, especially with horses and barrel racing. Carey has memories of riding horse and helping her family with ranch work as young as five. It was second nature to be on the horse, so she started competing in high school rodeo competitions.
