Bishop Rev. Mark Narum blessed Bethany during the Ordination Ceremony.

Pastor Bethany Haberstroh ordained

Faith is something Bethany Haberstroh has always had in her life – something she has been very thankful for. “I am very happy to have had parents that raised me in faith. I am not sure where I would be without that foundation that they gave me. That faith has gotten me through some difficult times in my life,” she said.

Bethany had no plans of becoming a pastor someday, however, like her father Rev. Warren A. Bigelow that is the direction her life has taken.

Her father was selling life insurance at the time he decided to become a pastor. Sadly, for Bethany and her family, her father’s life was cut short. He died from a massive heart attack when Bethany was just 17.

It seemed that for Bethany, the church was always calling her to serve. For a number of years she worked as church secretary for St. John’s Lutheran Church in Carson. Then some years later church secretary for Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin.
