Lunch project provides funding for school lunches

One day Shelly Seibel, who owns Seib’s Sports Bar with her husband Jade Seibel was reading an article about families’ inability to pay for school lunches, which was leading to “lunch shaming” in schools.

Basically what is happening in schools is that if a student’s account is behind, they are being offered an alternative choice of a cheese or peanut butter sandwich, as an example, instead of the hot lunch of the day.

The problem has become such an issue, that federal lawmakers have even had to introduce “anti-lunch shaming” bills into legislation. These bills are to get rid of the current requirement that schools have an alternative meal for those that are behind in their lunch bills.
