Grant County FFA completes community projects
A big part of the Grant County High School FFA program is to promote and encourage the youth that are in the program to get out in their communities and be part of them and work to make them a better place.
FFA Instructor Mr. Hetle has always encouraged the youth that come through the program to be involved in their communities.
This year some of the FFA/Ag students worked with Diane Hoffman, supervisor of the Kidz Clubhouse in Elgin to build a few items that would help improve on the outside play equipment for the children that went there.
One of the first projects tasked out was a swing for the babies at the daycare. Diane and the students involved in the project worked with her to make sure that the spacing and height was just right for the need of the child care givers. The students involved in that project were Jadon Sornsin-Scott, Mark Sauer, Jade Wruck and Daltyn Millim.
The larger project that was put before the students was to make a cover for the sandbox, for sanitary reasons and a cover to block out direct sunshine, so that the kids could play in the sand, without worry of the sand being too hot and burning them.
