Answering the call to serve
(Editor’s note: This is the final part of a series focusing on the work of the Hettinger County Sheriff’s Office. This week, we introduce deputies Kyle DeMark and Kennedy Pippenger.)
The deputies of the Hettinger County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) answer the call every day. But it’s a geographic challenge.
The 17th largest community in North Dakota – presumably Beulah – has a population of approximately 3,000 people, compared to Hettinger County’s population of about 2,500. Beulah has five police officers. The HCSO has five deputies. Beulah covers about 2.5 square miles.
