Hettinger Agriculture Challenge Contest
A lot has happened in the last four months, one of which our economy has changed drastically. When students turned to online learning in March, the three Agriculture classes began an ‘Agriculture Challenge’. Introduction/Foundations, Ag Mechanics and 8th Grade Ag were all given the Ag Challenge. The assignment included: What can we do to help the economy in North Dakota and/or our country? Is there a product we can use in our backyard or state to create something ‘new’? How can we make a positive impact to our agriculture economy?
Once students determined their ‘project’, they went through several components to finalize their product. Of course, there is more excitement if there is more than just a grade, so we made it into a competition. The ‘Best’ Project received a large pizza from Scruffy’s Restaurant. It is amazing how the willingness to improve a project changes with FOOD.
