On Mar. 24, Governor Doug Burgum addressed the state through a ND Dept. of Health Joint Information Center press conference.



Governor Burgum announced that four new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in North Dakota: one from Burleigh County, one from Dunn County, and two from Cass County. These additional cases bring the total count of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in North Dakota to 36.


Student Loans:

Governor Burgum announced that people who have student loans through the Bank of North Dakota can apply to defer payments for the next six months. Also, interest rates for fixed rate student loan borrowers will drop by 1 percent.


New Executive Order:

Lastly, Governor Burgum announced that, through new Executive Order 2020-11, all NDDOT administrative hearings will be either suspended or available through phone/video conference. In addition, all load restrictions on all state highways are suspended, unless determined otherwise by the NDDOT Director, until further notice.
